The Pixiebob's most distinctive feature is it's face, with a pronounced chin and a very heavy brow giving them the appearance of a worried or frowning look. Their face should create a soft diamond. Their short tails can vary from 2 inches to half way down their leg or "hock length". Many of the Pixiebobs are polydactyl but not all of them. The Pixiebob coat should be brown spotted and can have defined spots to diluted. The ears are small in size with some having tufts and full ear hairs. Some Pixiebobs have "muttonchops" that is hair that comes down the side of  jaw line. The Pixiebob can have either short or longer hair. The coat should stand out and when brushed backward should present a soft undercoat called mouse ticking, a grey short undercoat.
The personality of the Pixiebob is like that of a dog, very loyal and loves to be present with its Master. The Pixiebob can fetch a ball, stand on its hind legs and walk and can be taught many tricks. They are a very sociable cat that can adapt to a multi- animal home.
